Unable to login to CircleCI since 5 days. I am a DevOps engineer at my Org hence the constant availability of CircleCI for me is crucial (my boss will kill me soon).
When I try to login to CircleCI using GitHub as usual, it takes a long time to load and ultimately redirects me back to the Login page with this error - Your session has expired. Please log back in.
When I try to access a CircleCI link such as a link to a pipeline or a project, it again takes a long time to load and CircleCI throws me a 500 Error (Server Error).
I have already tried revoking CircleCI from my GitHub’s oauth applications integration, and authorising it again, but it leads to the same above errors.
Everything was working fine till like Friday last week. Only peculiar thing that happened on Friday was that I tried to access CircleCI via a VPN for the first time (I was working on another task which required testing with a VPN on), around after which this login issue started persisting. Have I been blacklisted / blocked?
Hello, don’t want to hijack the thread, but I’m having exactly the same problem, and cannot work due to this. It was fine for at least several months (and yesterday), but today suddenly cannot login. Using bitbucket cloud, previously used the more hidden option for 2023 integration login, but don’t see it anymore.
Tried clearing all cookies, incognito, revoking access in bitbucket - nothing seems to help. I’ve also used a VPN (different external IP) as well and might have switched IP few times over last days. Though earlier that did not cause any problems.
If helpful debugged with dev tools after clicking ‘Log in with Bitbucket Cloud’:
Hey, I was facing the exact situation you described. Turned out I was flagged and blacklisted for accessing CircleCI from a sanctioned region (I had used a random VPN Extension I found on Google Chrome the day this issue began, which probably led to this).
A support engineer from CircleCI guided me to this doc, explaining this further - https://support.circleci.com/hc/en-us/articles/360043679453-CircleCI-Terms-of-Service-Violation-Sanctioned-Country
This contains a link to an appeal form that you can fill. Following which you could create a support ticket as well which will accelerate the process of getting you whitelisted again.
I have learned to take caution of the VPNs I use
Thanks a lot for the prompt response! will check it out.
