Open source project build log requires authentication to view?

Let’s say I have a friend that isn’t a programmer and does not have a GitHub account. I wanted to showcase something that occurred during one of my builds. I send them a link to the workflow. They tell me they can’t see it and are being prompted to authenticate with CircleCI to continue.

Why does viewing a workflow for an open source project require authentication? What purpose does it serve? Why should a person need to create an account, or link an account, to view the result of a build?

Came here to ask regarding the same thing; we’ve got a public project and we’d ideally like the build errors to be visible to non-organisation members.

So i guess this would be a +1
