My team and I often trip on this whenever we need to identify who to ping to fix the broken build. The thing is, when we look at the UI and see something like this:
We often misunderstand that to mean that the person behind that avatar (Person A) broke the build but that’s not necessarily true though. For instance, when another person (Person B) merged a PR that Person A created, Person B’s avatar shows up. In another case, when Person B simply clicks Trigger Pipeline, it’s Person B’s avatar that shows up.
Maybe it would be clearer if the “Triggered By” avatar is in its own, properly labeled, column. It might also help to display the avatar of the author in the “Branch/Commit” column.
