The New Slack Integration is now in Beta

We’re excited to announce that the CircleCI Slack integration is now available in beta for all Cloud customers. Install the CircleCI Slack app once at the org level and start receiving workflow notifications in Slack — no orb configuration or secrets management required.

What beta means

Beta means the product is in early stages and you may encounter bugs, unexpected behaviour, or incomplete features. We’d love your help in shaping what this looks like at GA.

Getting started

Head over to our Slack integration documentation to learn how to install the app and configure notifications for your projects.

What to expect

  • Go to Org Settings > Slack Integration to install the CircleCI Slack app for your organization.

  • From Project Settings > Slack Notifications, link any project to a Slack channel and configure which workflow events trigger a notification.

Hi team, this looks good. However I have a question, we authenticate via GitHub, which means our we operate across multiple distinct CircleCI organizations, but we all route into a single corporate Slack workspace. But this beta release doc says “Each Slack workspace can only be connected to one CircleCI organization at a time”

  1. Are there any officially recommended patterns or workarounds for enterprise customers with multi-org architectures who want to leverage the native Slack feature?
  2. Is a native multi-org capability (allowing one Slack workspace to receive hooks from multiple distinct CircleCI organizations) currently on your product roadmap, and if so, is there an estimated timeline?

i believe vast majority of enterprise companies operate over multiple organizations to manage different business units/teams, how does this native integration work with that?
