We will update the way we approach Ruby in the OS X image. We are planning to move Ruby out of the OS and will include RVM in the image.
We are doing this in response to a trend of support issues regarding the selection of ruby versions and in response to certain dependencies (e.g., cocoapods) requiring newer versions of Ruby. We believe this will empower developers further and should not have a speed impact (assuming cache upon override).
