Further OS X image iteration

A few days ago we announced an updated and much improved OS X image. This had not yet cleared internal testing and in the meantime git-lfs was released. We therefore updated git-lfs alongside a couple of other things and started over with testing.

These are the changes we ship in this iteration on top of what we already announced last week:
