Manifest for circleci/mongo:3.0.15 not found

When I checked for available tags at the time of writing the config.yml file, v3.0.15 was available and the builds have been running fine. However, today I’m getting:

Starting container circleci/mongo:3.0.15
  image cache not found on this host, downloading circleci/mongo:3.0.15
Error response from daemon: manifest for circleci/mongo:3.0.15 not found

in logs.

v.3.0.15 is now not available in the list of tags in CircleCI’s docker hub. Why are images of certain versions being removed from the hub unannounced?

I would guess that’s an accident, or perhaps a security issue has been discovered. Are there any clues about what happened in the source GitHub repo?
