Is there a way to increase CPU allocation other than increasing resource class?

Hello,

my team are hitting an issue where test failures are occurring due to 100% CPU utilisation.

The easy solution is to increase our resource class on the job to xlarge. Though that increases credits per minute from 20 to 40.

Given CPU is the only constraint, is there any way to increase this only? For example, our RAM use is very low so we don’t really need an increase here which is going to occur with the resource class increase.

Not at this time unfortunately. A self-hosted runner would be the only option where you could pick your own compute.

You can upvote this feature request though so we can consider it going forward https://circleci.canny.io/images/p/resource-classes-favoring-higher-cpu-not-ram

Hi @sebastian-lerner

that link goes to a 404 for me?

Sorry…I need to figure out why that’s giving a 404.

https://circleci.canny.io/ → “search” in the top right → type in “CPU”, then if you go down to the one that says “Resource classes favoring higher CPU (not ram)”, that’s the one I was trying to link.
