Hi @fritz-circleci ,
I was wondering if you have any update regarding macOS 26.4 support on the CircleCI machine images?
macOS 26.4 was released back in March and we’re now approaching June. Our team is still unable to keep our CI environment aligned with local development machines.
We rely heavily on Flutter golden tests, and the rendering differences between macOS 26.3 and 26.4 mean the generated goldens differ between local machines and CI.
At this point, some developers on our team are already on macOS 26.4 locally and downgrading is not an option. They can no longer reliably generate or validate golden files on their own machines because the outputs differ from CI. Instead, they have to push changes and wait for CI to generate/update the goldens, which adds significant turnaround time to what should normally be a fast local workflow.
This is starting to have a noticeable impact on development velocity and confidence in our test pipeline.
We completely appreciate the need for image validation and stability checks, but given macOS 26.4 was released back in March, we wanted to ask whether there’s any ETA, preview image, or workaround available that could help unblock teams in this situation.
Thanks again - we’d really appreciate any update you’re able to share.
