Hey Everyone!

An updated current image is being released for Ubuntu 22.04 and Ubuntu 24.04, and Ubuntu 26.04 LTS (Resolute) is now available under the current tag for the first time, to match the edge tag.

Updates to this post will be provided should any of the details of the image publishing change.

Linux

This release is available under the current tag.

They are also available as a dated tag if you wish to pin:

  • ubuntu-2204:current

  • ubuntu-2404:current

  • ubuntu-2604:current

Linux GPU (CUDA)

This release is available under the default tag.

They are also available as a dated tag if you wish to pin:

  • linux-cuda-11:default

  • linux-cuda-12:default

  • linux-cuda-13:default

The machine image reference page:

CircleCI Developer - Machine Imagesubuntu-2604 - CircleCI is almost empty,

unlike the:

CircleCI Developer - Machine Imagesubuntu-2404 - CircleCI one.

Also the prior new announcement for 24.04 New Ubuntu 24.04 Linux Machine Executor image included a loose Bill Of Materials as to what versions of software to expect to find included. Is there some other resource for this for 26.04?

The BOM was in Ubuntu 22.04, 24.04, 26.04 - Q2 2026 Edge Release (Including CUDA)
