Much to my surprise, I was receiving email notifications from a project that I wasn’t following. I believe at one point I had followed it, but in my settings I had unfollowed it.
Steps to reproduce:
- Follow a project in CircleCI (if you have never followed it before, it will change the email notifications to
Default) - Unfollow that project
- You’ll receive emails from that project even though you unfollowed it.
- Navigate to Notifications in settings. You cannot change the notifications for a project you do not follow.
Fortunately, I still had access to that project, but I had to follow it, adjust email notifications, and unfollow again. If I did not have access, I think I would have been stuck and just deal with the incoming emails with no way to stop them.
