Sudo apt-get update -y returned exit code 100

hi there,
as part of our build installation we are running sudo apt-get update -y.
apparently the command returns with a status code 100.

i found this thread on google:

it looks like this is an issue that is caused by some kind of end of life for the Ubuntu version that CircleCI uses by default (12.04).
the only way i managed to workaround this issue was by turning the experiment project setting:
Ubuntu 14.04 Trusty container
Select this option to run builds in our Ubuntu 14.04 (Trusty) container.This container is currently in beta.Our default container is Ubuntu 12.04 (Precise).
Please note that you need to trigger a build by pushing commits to GitHub (instead of rebuilding) to apply the new setting.

Hi,

Ubuntu 12.04 LTS, which is our default container distro, has an EOL of April 2017. So that isn’t the reason this is failing. It looks like there’s a problem with a specific repo that is causing the command to fail.

Looking into this now, thank you for pointing it out.

Hi @oratthumzap,

The issue has been fixed on our end. The default Ubuntu 12.04 containers can be updated just fine now.

For anyone interested in the issue, it looks like TypeSafe has been rebranded to a new company name. When they killed their old domain name, they also killed any repos that were tied to it.
