Simplified Setup with CircleCI Managed Keys for Chunk

We’ve made it easier to get started with Chunk by removing one of the biggest barriers in the onboarding process.

What’s New

You can now use CircleCI managed API keys for Chunk. Previously, setting up an Anthropic or OpenAI API key was required to use Chunk Tasks, which created a significant onboarding barrier. Now, you can choose to use a CircleCI-managed key instead.

How It Works

When setting up Chunk Tasks, you’ll now see two options:

  1. Use CircleCI managed key, let CircleCI handle the API key management for you (new!)
  2. Bring your own key (BYOK) , continue using your own Anthropic or OpenAI API key

To get started with CircleCI-managed keys:

  1. Navigate to CircleCI web app → Your organization → Chunk Tasks → Get Started

  2. Install the CircleCI GitHub App in your desired GitHub Organization

  3. During setup, it will appear automatically selected CircleCI (Powered by Anthropic)

  4. Click Next

Note: During beta, using CircleCI managed keys doesn’t incur additional costs beyond your normal compute credits. This will be a paid feature after beta.
