Why Register Your Team Now
When team members push code without a CircleCI account, they appear as unregistered users. Registering your team gives them full access to CircleCI’s web app features while helping you accurately track and manage costs:
- Troubleshoot builds directly in the CircleCI app
- Rerun failed builds without waiting for help
- Access in-app functionality from a unified user record
- Better access to Support plan for known users in the app
Take Action Today
- Invite Your Team to CircleCI
- From CircleCI App, go to Organization Settings → People
- Click “Invite” and add team member emails (comma-separated for bulk invites)
- Set permissions as needed
- See detailed steps
- Review Current Usage
- Navigate to Plan → Usage → User
- Identify unregistered users (marked with [unregistered user])
- Evaluate your team’s actual usage patterns
- New Credits Visibility: Under Plan → Usage → Users, you can now see which users are consuming credits. This makes it easier to identify unregistered users who are generating charges and take action to prevent unexpected spend.
- Review VCS Permissions of your teams and people
- Manage access with your VCS to approve who is an active user, for example Github settings
Remember:
Free and Performance plans have 5 free active users included. You’re only charged for active users who trigger builds each month. Adding team members to the CircleCI App will not increase costs if they are not actively building in your billing cycle.
