Branch names with multiple slashes breaks checkout step during deploy

When I try to run a build on a branch with multiple slashes (e.g. “da/bug-21/fix-spacing”) I get an error during the checkout step.

fatal: Could not parse object 'febac541457583cf59ac248bd8d7a9f39c06a319'.
Exited with code 128

Weird thing is, checkout works properly for the build job, but not the deploy job!
