# Connect to existing MYSQL DB

I have some python code which connects to our db. I was unable to connect to the db and realized it was due to VPN issues. So I need to connect to the vpn first.

So after doing some more digging it doesn’t seem like circleci supports connecting to a vpn. (We use openvpn) I’ve found this post on stackoverflow describing some work arounds but none of them seems ideal. Any ideas?

I think that might not be possible in Docker, but it should be OK from a Machine executor. Which one are you trying?
