# Attach workspace takes a long time on windows-server-2022-gui:2023.10.1

As of win/server-2022 executor version 2023.10.1, attaching a workspace takes significantly longer than it did in 2023.09.1.

This was an issue in previous versions of the windows executor and it was fixed in 2023.09.1, but it seems to be occurring once again in the latest image.

On the same build:

2023.09.1 - Attach workspace takes 35s  
2023.10.1 - Attach workspace takes 4m 42s

The build in question is attaching a ~400MB workspace. The delay seems to be happening on “apply workspace layers” - the actual download only takes a few seconds.
